AT THE AIRPORT

> Flying to/from Columbus
Columbus is one of the Midwest's most accessible cities featuring an international passenger airport.
Located eight minutes from downtown, Port Columbus International Airport is served by 23 passenger lines providing 400 daily arrivals/departures and non-stop service to 35 destinations.

> Luggage carts: There is a $1.50 fee for luggage carts. The machine will accept a $1.00 bill and two 25 cent coins OR Six 25 cent coins OR VISA or MC credit cards.

> Money Exchange Booth: Located on Concourse C (the level at which you disembark).
They change traveler’s checks and bills only. (no coins).
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 7.30 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. / Saturday 10.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m.

> ATMs (money dispensing machines) are located on each concourse. Use VISA, MC

> Holiday Inn-on-the-Lane Pick Up: Hotel Courtesy phones are on the baggage claim level.
Call Holiday Inn-on-the-Lane (no money needed) and they will pick you up in about 20 minutes.

> Taxis to Red Roof Inn and Dracket Tower on the OSU campus (for campus housing check-in).
Taxis cost $15-$18. Tips can be 10-12%.

IN TOWN

> Banks: There are three banks, with ATMs, near the Dept. for cash withdrawals with VISA or MC credit cards only. National City Bank takes Discover also.
NONE cash foreign travelers’ checks or change foreign currency.

> American Express: This is the only place in town to cash foreign traveler’s checks and change foreign currency. There is a $3.00 charge for amounts up to $500.00. There is no charge for American Express traveler’s checks in any currency.
Location is downtown on 53 N. High St. Bus stop is outside the dance building (on N. High St).
A 20 minute ride gets you to the bus stop at Broad St. near American Express.
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
(When I travel abroad the best rate of exchange for me is on a credit card. Check to see if the same applies to your banking institutions. OB)

> Parking Permit
. Staying at Campus Housing: Permits are $3.00 per day for all for “C” (student)parking lots. There is one near Drackett. Purchase at check in.
. Staying Off-Campus: If you wish to park on campus there is a special permit for conference participants. The cost is a $4.00 charge for each exit.You need a permit for each exit e.g. if you are planning on six days you will buy 6 $4.00 permits. It is a very good deal if you stay parked all day. Please let us know by June 20th if you wish to have them and how many you need,.because the Dept. has to buy them. This allows you to use any lot or garage.

> Temperatures and Recreational Amenities
These can be in the 80s F. and humid.
Buildings are air conditioned so bring something warm to throw on over your summer clothes.
Holiday Inn has a pool. The University has pools (including a therapeutic pool), exercise facilities, etc. for a fee of $5.00 per day.

> Restaurants and grocery
There is a grocery store near the Holiday Inn & the Campus housing.
Restaurants & eateries along High Street which is where the Department of Dance is.
(Restaurant tipping is 15%).
Bus to downtown goes along High Street (20-30 minute ride).
